Where uniQue nautical creativity meets precision engineering

nautiQa began in 2021 as Gecko nautiQ with a simple idea: to create unique nautical artwork that celebrates the character and heritage of the boats we love. What started as a small side project, drawing vessels and selling the illustrations as gifts and memorabilia, soon grew into something far larger and more meaningful.
A turning point came in 2023, when Scott purchased an ex-RNLI lifeboat and discovered that many owners faced a similar issue: original components were difficult or impossible to source. The RNLI were reusing or recycling many parts, and others were not sold with the vessels when they left service. Scott began recreating rare and unobtainable items so owners could keep these boats complete, functional and authentic. This practical need, combined with a passion for maritime heritage, shaped the next stage of nautiQa’s development.
A third area of nautiQa’s work began in response to ongoing requests from model builders and collectors for accurate 1:12 and 1:8 scale models of the RNLI MB4H launching tractor. When Scott was offered an incomplete digital model originally started by another designer before ill health halted the project, he took on the task of finishing and refining the design so enthusiasts could finally obtain a high-quality version of this iconic machine.
